Substantial Quantity Of Drugs Found In Fermanagh

A substantial quantity of drugs have been seized by police in Fermanagh.

The drugs were recovered in the Marble Arch Road area of Enniskillen on Thursday night.

They found a van crashed on the road after 9pm and searched the vehicle and identified suspected cocaine. No one was in the van and an investigation has been launched.

Detective Inspector Alan Pyper said: "The suspected drugs are being analysed but we believe this could be between seven and eight kilos of cocaine. We are delighted to have recovered this quantity of illegal drugs and our inquiries are continuing to establish a quantity and value."

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision on Tuesday, 05 march between Omagh and Ballygawley. Shortly before 7.25pm on Tuesday evening, police received a report of a collision on the Curr Road involving a white BMW 320 and blue Scania lorry.

Two Men Arrested In £500,000 Drug Seiure In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a £500,000 drug seizure following searches in South Belfast. On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.

PSNI Reveals Figures On Mass Speeding Operation
New figures from the PSNI show the number of drivers caught speeding in one day in Northern Ireland as part of a major operation. Police carried out vehicle check points, speed checks and proactively patrolling as part of a Service Wide proactive Roads Policing Operation focusing on speeding (OP Lifesaver) and pedestrian safety (Op Safer steps).

Man Arrested After Using Van To Attack Police Officers
The PSNI has condemned an incident in which a man used a van to repeatedly ram a police patrol car and attempted to run over an officer in Newry on Saturday, 03 February. Shortly after 11:20pm, officers on patrol approached a man standing beside a white Peugeot van in the Castlekeele Estate area.
