Preferred Developer Announced To Redevelop Vacant Site

NI firm Karl Developments has been selected as the preferred developer to redevelop a vacant site in Co Antrim.

Subject to planning and other statutory approvals, the Ulster Bar Corner site in the town centre will see a significant investment in the town, which will result in a mixed used development, incorporating retail, office and residential accommodation.

Our concept is for a mixed use scheme, which will also create a new 'place' - All Saints Square - at the gateway to Antrim town centre. DUP Condemns Incendiary Devices In Banbridge

The DUP has condemned the thugs responsible for placing what police described as a "crude incendiary" device under two vehicles outside a house in Banbridge.

DUP MLA Sydney Anderson said those responsible for placing them obviously have no regard for the safety of anyone within the area.

Mr Anderson said: "By their very nature these devices are crude and indiscriminate.

"I would pay tribute to the bravery of neighbours who tackled the blaze in the car which was set alight. It is vital that the police apprehend those responsible and they are brought to justice."

Consultation Period Begins To Review Business Rates

A consultation period has started to review business rates in Northern Ireland.

The consultation period will last for a period of twelve weeks, during which stakeholders will be invited to provide input on the future direction of business rates in Northern Ireland. The review will also seek views on alternative forms of taxation as either replacements or supplements to the existing rating system.
