Stormont To Be Lit Red To Mark Armistice Day
The Stormont Building in Co Down is to be lit up red for the first time to mark Armistice Day this evening, 11 November.
It was one of four days the Assembly Commission selected itself for the Building to be illuminated during the year.
The Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly said: "My involvement in First World War commemorations over this last year has only underlined to me the importance that the Assembly should remember and show respect to the fallen. Therefore, lighting Parliament Buildings red on the 11th November is an important initiative and will follow on from the Act of Remembrance I will lead in the Great Hall to allow Members, staff, the civil service and visitors the opportunity to come together to mark the two minutes silence at 11am.
"Remembrance is very personal, even private, for many. As the Speaker representing an Assembly of diverse views, I am conscious that people will mark remembrance in their own ways being influenced by their own different backgrounds and perspectives."

Daughter of Enniskillen bomb victim meets with police
A relative of one of those killed in the Enniskillen Poppy Day bombing 17 years ago has met senior police officers to discuss the ongoing investigation into the tragedy. Aileen Quinton, who lost her mother Alberta in the bomb, met with detectives to discuss the IRA atrocity which killed 11 people and injured a further 63 on November 8 1987.

Belfast City Council Secures Future Of Historic Assembly Rooms
Belfast City Council has agreed to purchase the historic Assembly Rooms from Castlebrooke Investments. The move is part of the council's ongoing efforts to regenerate the city centre. The Grade B1 listed building, which has been vacant since 2000, dates back to 1769 and is located on the corner of North Street and Waring Street.

Alliance Education Spokesperson Michelle Guy MLA has spearheaded the establishment of a new cross-party Assembly group dedicated to improving the online safety of children and young people in Northern Ireland. Working in partnership with the NSPCC, the All Party Group (APG) aims to create a more secure digital environment for the region's youth.
