House Attacked In North Belfast

Police are treating a house attack as a racist hate crime after oil was thrown over a property in north Belfast.

The incident happened in the North King Street area between 8am and 5.30pm on Wednesday.

No-one was in the house at the time, however the front window and the door were damaged.

Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly condemned the attack.

Mr Kelly said: "Racism must be confronted at every opportunity by political, community and civic leaders where ever it raises its ugly head.

"My understanding is that the home at North King Street targeted in this attack was empty at the time.

"Thankfully no one was hurt in this incident.

"I would appeal to anyone with information about this disgraceful hate crime to come forward to the PSNI urgently to prevent any further attacks of this nature."
