Boy Arrested In Connection With North Belfast Attack

A boy has been arrested after reportedly pouring or spraying liquid over another boy's face in north Belfast.

The suspect was attacked in the Oldpark Road area at around 9pm on Thursday.

The victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Inspector Roy Watton said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Police at Tennent Street on the non-emergency number 101.

Man Arrested In Connection With Incident In Lurgan
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Lurgan in the early hours of Sunday 13 June. Shortly after 5:45am, police received a report of what was described as a petrol bomb thrown towards an address on William Street. A Belfast boy knocked down by a car while playing on the Stewartstown road six years ago has been awarded over £1m in compensation. Matthew McCarty from Twinbrook, who appeared in court in a wheelchair, suffered serious injuries to his head and body when he was hit by a car.

Booze Ruling Halts Asda's Store Plans
One of the world's largest supermarket groups has abandoned plans to open a second store in the north Belfast area - because it has been refused permission to sell alcohol. Asda has pulled out of plans for a branch at the old Hillview Retail Park on the Crumlin Road because "none of their branches operated without a beer, wine and spirits licence".

Boy, 17, Injured In Belfast Gun Attack
A youth has been shot and injured in a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast last night. Police said the 17-year-old remains in a non-life threatening condition in hospital. The shooting happened close to a convenience store on the Whiterock road around 10.15pm The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg.

Teenage boy injured in pipe-bomb attack
A teenage boy and a pensioner have been injured in a pipe bomb attack in east Belfast. The 14-year-old boy, Noel Brady, sustained a back injury during disturbances in Short Strand last night after a pipe bomb was thrown into the nationalist Bryson Court area.
