Woman Arrested In West Belfast After Herbal Cannabis Seized In RoI

Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman after herbal cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £40,000, was seized in the Republic of Ireland (RoI).

The woman was arrested at a property in the Ardcaoin area of Dunmurry, west Belfast, on Tuesday in an operation carried out in conjunction with the Irish Revenue's Customs Service and the National Crime Agency.

A small quantity of suspected class A drugs were also uncovered during the house search.

The woman is being questioned at Musgrave Police Station on suspicion of trafficking class A and B controlled drugs.

The incident happened in the Summerhill Road area of Dunmurry shortly after 10.25pm on Wednesday, 14 April. Inspector McCullough said: "While our enquiries are at an early stage, this shooting bears the hallmarks of a paramilitary style assault.

Man Charged Over Stabbing Incidents In West Belfast
A man has been charged over a number of stabbing incidents in west Belfast. The incidents happened in the early hours on Monday morning, 12 April. The charges include threats to kill, common assault and criminal damage. The 39-year-old suspect is to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today, 13 April.

New Route Announced From Belfast To Cardiff
A new route from Belfast City Airport to Cardiff is to launch this summer. Stobart Air, operator of Aer Lingus Regional routes, confirmed flights to the Welsh capital will commence on 28 June and will operate up to four times a week.
