Two Men Charged Following East Belfast Drug Arrests

Two men have been charged in connection with a drug operation in East Belfast.

PSNI officers arrested two men at about 12:30pm on Monday, 04 July in the Beersbridge Road area of East Belfast in an operation which also lead to the seizure of a quantity of heroin and a sum of cash.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug, possession of a class A controlled drug and possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply.

And a 23-year-old man has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a class A controlled drug and conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug.

Both men are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 05 January).

Two men have been arrested following a suspected cannabis find, worth an estimated street value of £200,000, in Cookstown. Police discovered the cannabis factory at a house in the Keenaghan Road area on Tuesday. A quantity of herbal cannabis and a number of suspected cannabis plants in various stages of growth were seized.

Many Arrests In Gardaí Drugs Raids
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and 'crack' cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.

Police Seize Class A Drugs In Bangor
Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the seizure of suspected class A drugs in Bangor. Police searched a house in Victoria Road and a quantity of suspected class A drugs, worth an estimated street value of between £30,000 and £50,000, were recovered on Tuesday.

NI Drug Deaths Double
The number of drug related deaths registered each year has more than doubled over the last decade rising from 39 deaths in 1997 to 86 last year. The 86 fatalities were registered in Northern Ireland where the cause of death was drug related, either due to legal or illegal drugs.

Two Men Stable After Slurry Incident In L'Derry
Two men are being treated in hospital following an incident with a slurry tank at a farm in L'Derry. Emergency services attended the scene in the Claudy area at around 4pm on Saturday, 16 June. The men are believed to be aged in their 40s and 70s. The Health & Safety Executive has launched an investigation.

Two Men Arrested Following Suspected Heroin Find In Co Down
Two men have been arrested after police seized suspected heroin, worth approximately £12,000, in Co Down. The discovery was made in the Holywood Road area on Wednesday, 24 May. The suspects, aged 38 and 23, have been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences following a proactive operation by the Belfast District Support Team.

Cannabis Factory Discovered In Ballymena
A man has been arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered in a shed in Ballymena, Co Antrim. A member of the public made the discovery in the Frosses Road area at around 11.30pm. Over 100 plants were seized, according to the police.

Two men have been charged with drugs offences after drugs worth an estimated £300,000 were seized by police. The drugs were found in a car stopped on the M2 on Saturday. One man, aged 56, and another, aged 24, have been charged with posession of a class A drug and posession of a class A drug with intent to supply.
