Toddler Dies In Tragic Accident

A two-year-old boy who was killed after a chest of drawers fell on top of him has been named as Archie Tafts.

The accident happened at a property in Cloughmills, Co Antrim, on Tuesday.

In a statement, the PSNI said: "As would be normal procedure with any sudden death, a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner."

Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay expressed his condolences.

He said: "This is a terrible start to the New Year for the family and friends of this young boy.

"It will shock the entire local community in Cloughmills and the surrounding area.

"I send my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this child at this sad and difficult time."

SDLP North Antrim Representative Connor Duncan said: "This news will stun the entire community. We cannot begin to understand the grief that will follow such a sudden and tragic accident.

"I wish to express my deepest sympathies and extend my condolences to the family. They will be in my thoughts and I am sure the thoughts of everyone in Cloughmills, Antrim and across the North today."
