Union Calls For Meeting With C&C Group Over Report Of Job Losses

SIPTU members are seeking an urgent meeting with the management of drinks manufacturer C&C Group to discuss a report that it intends to close its water-bottling plant in Borrisoleigh, County Tipperary, in July.

SIPTU Organiser, Terry Bryan, said: "We have contacted the management of the company seeking an urgent meeting to discuss the veracity of a report in The Irish Times this morning that the company intends to close its water-bottling plant in Borrisoleigh, County Tipperary, during the summer.

"The report also states that the company intends to make a further investment in its operations in Clonmel. The company has made no comment on either of these issues and the report has come as shock to our members."
