Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning on Thursday, which comes into effect at 3am and runs until 11am.
A further warning for ice is expected and motorists are being urged to drive carefully and to expect some hazardous conditions on untreated roads.
Sleet and snow showers are also expected on Thursday morning.
NI Firm Starts Work On £160m Biomass Plant
An NI construction firm has started work on a £160 million biomass plant at Port Clarence in Teeside.
Lagan Construction in partnership with Eco2 were appointed to build The Port Clarence Renewable Energy Plant.
The plant will have capacity to treat an estimated 325,000 tonnes of waste wood per year. Danish energy-from-waste specialist Babcock and Wilcox Vølund will operate the plant.
The plant will generate around 40MW of power, the equivalent of powering around 75,000 homes in Tees Valley and elsewhere in the North East. Situated on the banks of the River Tees at Clarence Works, the facility secured planning permission from Stockton-on-Tees borough council in 2014.
Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Omagh Magistrates' Court.
Enda Maguire claimed Jobseekers Allowance totalling £5,634 while failing to declare employment. He was given 180 hours community service.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

86,000 Young Trees Culled In Ash Dieback Control
Some 86,000 young trees have been destroyed to prevent the spread of 'Ash Dieback' into the wider environment, according to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. "Over 3,000 site inspections have been carried out since the disease was first found here in November 2012," said Agriculture Minister Michelle O'Neill.

Solectron expected to cut 200 jobs at County Antrim plant
More than 200 jobs look set to be lost at an electronics firm in County Antrim as a result of a downturn in the ailing technology sector. US based company Solectron is planning to close its factory in Carrickfergus and has issued its entire workforce with 90-day redundancy notices.

A Northern Ireland cement firm has expressed further optimism for Belfast's emerging Titanic Quarter by announcing plans for a £2m on-site plant investment. CEMEX NI said it is confident the company will contribute to 'lifting the gloom' which has taken hold of the construction supply industry in the last 18 months.
