120 New Jobs Created By New Health Training Centre

More than 100 jobs are to be created at a new Connected Health training centre, which has been officially opened on Boucher Road, Belfast,by Health Minister Simon Hamilton.

The 120 full and part time jobs will be in the Belfast, Lisburn, and North Down areas and will be implemented over the next 12 months.

The Minister said: "My Department has been working incredibly hard in partnership with the local Health Trusts to examine ways of improving the mechanisms for the delivery of care across communities in Northern Ireland.

"The efforts at Connected Health in terms of both the new training facility and the jobs announcement demonstrate that we have the knowledge, talent and ability to improve services to those who need it most within our communities.

"My Department will continue to examine best practice in this vital sector and ensure the wider health and social care ecology can integrate and complement in the most appropriate manner."

The training suite at Connected Health has been designed and developed to provide in-house and cutting edge training and development support for both new and existing staff.

The suite provides a practical, focused and disciplined environment where staff can learn in a supportive peer orientated and risk free environment.
