Limavady accused denies murder charge
A Limavady man has been charged with the murder of a neighbour whose body was discovered in a burning shed in Limavady earlier this week.
Ronald Hazlett, 38, denied the murder charge when he appeared at Londonderry Magistrate's Court. A 15-year-old co-defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also denied a charge of murder.
The body of 51-year-old Edward Brian McLaughlin was discovered in a burning shed at Limavady's old cattle mart on Monday.
Police arrested the two on Tuesday. It is understood that detectives are continuing their enquiries in respect of a third man. However, a woman who was also arrested was later released without charge.
The case was adjourned until November 7, and both defendants were remanded in custody.
