NI entrepreneurs urged to 'GO For It'

Northern Ireland's budding entrepreneurs are being urged to 'GO For It' thanks to a new initiative by Invest NI.

Comedian Patrick Kielty was in Belfast today to endorse Invest NI’s major new communication campaign, which aims to create a buzz about entrepreneurship that will get people thinking seriously about starting a business.

Launched today at W5 in the Odyssey Arena, the campaign seeks to boost the level of entrepreneurial activity and raise the standing of Northern Ireland in the international business start-up league.

Professor Terri Scott, Managing Director of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise in Invest NI, said: “Our aim is to make setting up a business a real option for many more people, from many different walks of life. This campaign is the call to action: ‘GO for it’ - get the ball rolling, turn your idea into a business, the support is there for you, you are not alone."

The campaign will feature across a wide range of media from television and radio, outdoor poster sites, beer mats and bus interiors, to car park barriers and tickets, press, building wraps, and shopping trolleys.

The range of support available to entrepreneurs will be highlighted via a series of roadshows being organised by Invest NI beginning in November. Ten major ‘Start A Business’ roadshows will be held around Northern Ireland to give practical support to those with a business idea.
