Mentoring Programme For Women In Property

The National Association of Women in Property, in conjunction with JIVE Partners, is embarking on a mentoring programme designed to help increase the representation of women in the construction and property industry.

The recruitment of mentors and mentorees started during the Women in Property's National Conference, which was held on 26-28 September 2003. Rachel Sanders, National Chairman of Women in Property, said: "Twenty relationships are initially being set up in the WiP mentoring programme with our first training session following shortly. It is envisaged this will develop into a larger programme on offer to any member of Women in Property who is interested in a mentoring relationship.

"This programme is part of a larger national network of mentoring relationships for women in the construction industry, which JIVE Partners have developed and run with other employers and organisations in this field." The Association of Women in Property provides a dynamic forum for the professional development of women in the property and construction industry, to enhance business opportunities, exchange views, network and gain knowledge. It seeks to promote the role of women in the wider business community and to encourage more women to take up and develop their careers in property.

The Association was set up in 1987 as a national networking organisation for women in the property and construction industry. Currently it has eight regional branches and 1,000 members.
