Dept Of Employment To Offer 'Full Support' To Affected H&W Employees

The Department for Employment and Learning will offer its full support to workers affected by the potential 60 redundancies announced by Harland & Wolff.

The Department's Minister, Stephen Farry, said that they would work "proactively" with employees affected by the announcement to "determine what steps we can take to assist those facing redundancy by providing advice and guidance regarding re-skilling, training and alternative employment opportunities."

"My officials will work closely with all those involved to ensure the best advice, help and support are offered to affected employees at the appropriate time," Mr Farry added.

"My Department will also be offering redundancy clinics to the company and their employees. The Redundancy Advice Service works in partnership with a range of agencies including Further Education Colleges and HMRC to provide advice and support on a range of issues."
