Belfast Man Dies In Co Sligo Crash

A man from Belfast has died in a car crash in County Sligo.

The 69-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving hit a ditch in Castlegal, Cliffoney, at around 3pm on Monday.

The man's car was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

The body has been removed to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem will take place.

Police and Garda are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Woman Killed Following Crash On A2
A woman has been killed in a car crash on the Bangor to Belfast Road on Friday, 10 November. The collision happened on the A2 at Ballygilbert after 3pm. A child was also critically injured and is being treated in hospital. Another man involved was treated in hospital, however he has been discharged. The road has since been re-opened.

A man has been killed in a car crash in Londonderry. Two other people have also been injured in the accident, which happened after midnight on Thursday at Alder Road. Two cars were involved in the accident. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Samurai sword killer receives life sentence
A Belfast man who pleaded guilty to murdering a 33-year-old father-of-two with a sword was jailed for life today at Craigavon Crown Court. Stephen Henry, 29, from Mountpottinger Road, was handed down a minimum 13-year sentence for a savage attack on John Cooke in May 2004.

Man critical in hospital following stolen car crash
A man is in critical condition in hospital today after a stolen car crashed into a wall in west Belfast yesterday. The car, which was stolen in Dunmurry on Monday night, blocked a road for several hours after the incident. Parts of the vehicle were strewn across a wide area and debris went through the window of a house.

Man Dies In Co Fermanagh Road Crash
A man aged in his 70s has died in a car crash in Co Fermanagh. The collision happened at Gardiners Cross Road near Tempo on Sunday, 19 June. Diversions were put in place at the time of the crash, however the road has been re-opened. A post-mortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.
