Man Rescued After Falling Onto Rocks In Co Antrim

A man has been rescued after he fell onto rocks on a beach in Portrush, Co Antrim.

The incident happened at the Whiterocks beach at shortly before 1pm on Wednesday.

The RNLI lifeguard attended the scene and rescued the man who had fallen approximately twelve feet from the cliff path.

He is currently being treated in hospital however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

RNLI Lifeguard Supervisor Karl O'Neill said: "This incident was quite a challenging one to respond to due to the nature and location of the fall. Thankfully the man was conscious but we did not want to risk any further discomfort or injury by moving him ourselves. I would like to thank members of Coleraine coastguard for their assistance."

Man Injured After Falling Over Wall In Co Antrim
A man has sustained a number of injuries after he fell over a wall in Cushendall, Co Antrim. The incident happened at around 2.30am on Sunday, 31 July. Crew members from the RNLI rescued the man who landed close to rocks beside a lifeboat station. He has currently being treated at the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine.

Man Jailed For Manslaughter Of David James Conville
A 31-year-old man has been jailed at Belfast Crown Court for the manslaughter of David James Conville in south Belfast in May, 2022. Edward Kelly was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half years, half of his sentence will be served in custody and half will be served on licence, following his guilty plea last November.

Appeal For Information On Serious Assault In Portadown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a serious assault in Portadown that it being investigated as a 'disability hate crime'. On Saturday, 24 February, at around 5.20pm, police received a report that a young man had been attacked by six teenage boys in the High Street Mall area.
