Two Men Arrested Over Robberies In East Belfast

Two men have been arrested in connection with robberies in east Belfast.

The incidents happened at two commercial premises on the Albertbridge Road at 11.35am and 11.50am on Tuesday, 12 April.

The suspects, aged 29 and 33, have been detained in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area between 11.30am and 11.50am to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime Branch at Musgrave PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101.

DUP East Belfast Assembly candidate Robin Newton said: "The robberies of these two local businesses are attacks on the entire community. It is deplorable that staff and owners are subjected to such violent incidents and the longer term mental health issues of such matters can be traumatic.

"The PSNI need the support of the local community to catch those responsible and keep the community safe."
