Officer Dies Suddenly At Police Station In Co Antrim

A police officer has died suddenly at Ballymoney Police Station in Co Antrim.

PSNI Superintendent Tony Callaghan said: "Police are investigating the sudden death of a 55-year-old police officer in Ballymoney Police Station on April 18.

"We are not treating the death as suspicious."

He also confirmed that the Police Ombudsman has been informed.

No other details have been released.

The woman was detained by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Taskforce in the Newtownabbey area on Thursday, 07 December. She was questioned at Antrim Police Station, however she has been released on bail.
