Blaze At Lissue House Being Treated As 'Deliberate'

A fire at Lissue House in Lisburn is being treated as deliberate.

The blaze at the former children's psychiatric hospital occurred at around 7am on Thursday, 09 June.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Detective Constable Bell from Lisburn Reactive and Organised Crime said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Knockmore area this morning and who may have noticed anything or anyone suspicious or out of the ordinary."

NI Misses Cancer Treatment Targets
Northern Ireland's hospitals have failed to meet target times for the treatment of patients referred for suspected cancer, a new report by the Department of Health revealed. Its guidelines say 95% of patients should begin their treatment within 62 days. Last December however, the figure stood at 81%, which was the third monthly fall in a row.

Man Dies In Motorcycle Collision Near Lisburn
A 27-year-old man has died after a crash involving two off-road motorcycles near Lisburn. Ryan Phillips, aged 27, was killed in the collision which happened in a laneway close to the Park and Ride facility at Sprucefield at around 7pm on Sunday, 20 February.

Cyclist Dies Following Collision Near Conlig
Police in Newtownards have appealed for information following a fatal road traffic collision near Conlig. A man, aged 40, was cycling with two others when they were struck by a white Hyundai car on the Bangor-bound carriageway shortly before 2pm on Tuesday, 11 July. The man died in hospital from injuries sustained in the collision.

Lisburn Quarry Fire Treated As 'Malicious'
A fire at a quarry in Lisburn, County Antrim is being treated as malicious, police have said. The fire was discovered just after 22:00 on Tuesday evening at the site on the Pond Park Road. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets and three foam jets to deal with the blaze, which involved a crane and two pile driving machines.

A man is being treated in hospital after being struct by a van in Belfast City Centre on Monday, 02 September. The collision occurred at the Millfield junction in the city centre at approximately 5.40pm.
