Woman Left Badly Shaken Following Car Hijacking In Belfast

A 60-year-old woman was left badly shaken following a car hijacking in Belfast.

The incident happened at the Northside Park and Ride Carpark at around 5pm On Wednesday, 13 July.

Two men entered the woman's car while she was in it and physically took the car keys from her. She was badly shaken, however she was not injured.

Two suspects were arrested on the Hallidays Road where the stolen vehicle had been left.

They were interviewed and have been released from custody.

A police spokesperson said: "We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular, we are appealing for information from anyone who was in the vicinity of the car park around 5pm on Wednesday, who saw the incident or any males in the area.

"We are also appealing for information about the blue Peugeot car registration ERZ8053 and its movements between 5pm and 5.35pm, when it was abandoned in Hallidays Road, Belfast."

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Stolen Car Rams Shop In Belfast
Police are appealing for information after a stolen car rammed into the shutters of a shop in the Wellington Place area of Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning. A white Volkswagen Passat, which had earlier been stolen from the Bangor area, drove into the shutter of the shop at approximately 3.30am.

Car park attendant robbed in Belfast
Police in south Belfast are appealing for information following a robbery at a car park in the York Street area. At around 6pm on Wednesday evening four males approached the car parking attendant and demanded money. One of the assailants pulled the man through the window of the site hut and held him until he handed over a sum of cash.
