JTI To Establish £5m Job Creation Fund For Ballymena
Following the closure of its Ballymena production facility in 2017, tobacco firm JTI has said it will establish a £5 million fund to boost job creation in the area.
JTI is to close its Co Antrim production facility next year with the loss of 800 jobs.
It is understood that a board will be established to distribute the fund, which will see around £300,000 invested each year for 20 years, to be chaired by local MP Ian Paisley and include local business and trade union representatives.
News of the support fund was first reported by the Ballymena Guardian.

Belfast City Council has announced a new £100,000 Challenge Fund competition for the city's digital and creative companies, aimed at animating the Maritime Mile.
