Witness Appeal Following Fatal Collision On Belfast Road

Police in Newtownards have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal collision involving a motorcyclist in Co Down on Sunday, 31 July.

A male motorcyclist died following the collision, which occurred at around 12.50pm on the Belfast Road near Newtownards.

Police said they would "especially like" to hear from the driver of a blue or purple Ford Kuga who is believed to have stopped at the scene, but left before police arrived.

Inspector Jim McGrillen said: "Our investigation into the circumstances of the collision is at an early stage and I am appealing for witnesses. The number to call is 101, quote reference 205 30/07/16."

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.
