London Firm To Create 300 Jobs In Belfast

Three hundred new jobs are to be created in Belfast by London-based financial services company, Tullet Prebon.

The company is to establish a major technology centre in the city, to support its international growth strategy, creating the new jobs over the next three years.

Announcing the investment First Minister, Arlene Foster said: "I welcome this highly significant multi-million pound investment by Tullett Prebon.

"Today's announcement of 300 new jobs will contribute over £9.9million in additional salaries into the Northern Ireland economy each year, once all the roles are in place.

She went on to describe the investment as a "vote of confidence in the ability and quality of the Northern Ireland workforce".

The deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness added: "Tullett Prebon creating 300 new jobs and choosing to locate their new technology centre here is terrific news.

"Tullett Prebon plc is one of the world's leading interdealer brokers and has a presence in 24 countries and 2,700 people across the globe. They are serious global players and their decision to locate in the north of Ireland is testament to the quality of our IT workforce and proven performance record. 

"The new jobs will offer an average salary of £33,000, providing excellent opportunities for graduate and experienced IT professionals as well as school leavers. The Executive for its part will continue to make every effort to ensure our people have the right skills and qualifications which combined with our low cost base makes us a compelling location for international companies to locate."
