Man Charged Over £120,000 Cannabis Find

A 23-year-old man has been charged after police seized herbal cannabis worth an estimated street value of £120,000 in Omagh.

The drugs were found after a vehicle was stopped and searched on the Great Northern Road just before 3pm on Friday, 25 August.

Around 13kgs of suspected cutting agent for a class A drug were also found.

Police carried out a number of house searches in L'Derry following the seizure. A small amount of suspected herbal cannabis and a mobile phone were discovered.

Detective Inspector McClure said: "Our investigation is at an early stage. We continue our efforts to keep people safe by removing drugs from the streets and arresting anyone suspected of involvement in their supply. I appeal to anyone who has any concerns or information about illegal drugs to contact their local Police on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Man Wanted In Lithuania Arrested In Magherafelt
The PSNI have arrested a 23-year-old man in Magherafelt wanted in Lithuania to face charges of human trafficking. The man was arrested by officers from the Police Service's local policing team in Magherafelt, with assistance from the International Policing Unit. He is expected appear before extradition court in Belfast later today.

Death Of Kilkeel Man Being Treated As Murder
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Kilkeel. On Thursday, 21 March, police received a report of a concern for safety for a couple at a property in the Newcastle Road area of the town shortly after 12.50pm. On arrival, officers located the body of a man who was unconscious and not breathing.
