Fire At Recycling Plant In West Belfast Being Treated As 'Accidental'
A fire at a recycling plant in west Belfast is being treated as accidental, according to the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS).
The blaze at Wastebeater Recycling on the Blackstaff Road in Kennedy Way broke out on Wednesday afternoon, 31 August.
A spokesperson from NIFRS said: "Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service is treating the fire at Wastebeater Recycling Plant in west Belfast as accidental.
"Firefighters continue to carry out the dampening down operation as a large quantity of waste is still smouldering. 2 Fire Appliances and one aerial pumping appliance remain at the scene with all roads now re-opened to traffic in the area."

THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Belfast Council Rolls Out New Recycling Scheme
About 55,000 homes in Belfast are to benefit from a new recycling scheme that will seek to maximise the amount of waste households can recycle. The changes will be rolled out between August and November and will affect inner-city homes currently on a black recycling box collection, as well as apartments with communal recycling facilities.

Fire Crews Tackle Industrial Recycling Plant Fire
An industrial recycling plant in Omagh, Co Tyrone, is on fire, with more than 50 firefighters at the scene. It is understood the fire broke out at RecyCo, on the Barony Road, Mountfield, in the early hours of Monday morning.
