Plans Approved To Develop New Play Park In L'Derry
Planning permission has been approved to develop a new play park in Co L'Derry.
The park, at Ballyarnett country park, was given the green light by the councils planning committee.
SDLP Cllr Brian Tierney welcomed the announcement.
He said: "As a member of the Ballyarnett Master Plan Steering Group, I'm delighted that the council's planning committee has given support to this development. We will continue working to ensure then needs of local people, and particularly young people, are met.
"This is a good news story for local people and hopefully we'll see work underway very soon."
Speed Limit On Coshquin Road Reduced
Plans to reduce the speed limit on the Coshquin Road in Co L'Derry are to be put in place.
The new speed limit, from 60mph to 30mph, is expected to come into force by the end of September or earlier as soon as all the necessary signage and roadmarkings are in place.
The restriction will apply from the Coshquin Road junction with the Aileach Road to its junction with the Whitehouse Road.
Sports NI Seekd New Chair, Vice-Chair And Board Members
Sports Minister Paul Givan MLA is seeking to appoint a new Chair, Vice-Chair and Members to the Board of Sport NI.
Minister Givan said: "Sport has a significant impact on people’s lives, uniting communities and bringing them together. The new appointments to the Sport NI Board will be key in ensuring that sport continues its positive contribution to society, as well as providing strong leadership and effective governance. I hope therefore that there is a high level of interest from members of the public from a variety of backgrounds with the requisite skills and experience in applying for these positions."
The closing date for applications is 12pm on Friday 30 September 2016.
