Investigation Launched After Accident At Tayto Park In Co Meath

An investigation has launched following an accident at the Tayto Park in Ashbourne, Co Meath.

Nine people were taken to hospital after stairs collapsed at the 'House of Horrors' shortly after 8pm on Saturday, 22 October.

A spokesperson from the park said the visitors were taken to hospital as a "precautionary measure".

A statement from Tayto Park said: "Last night at approximately 8pm the lower portion of a permanent staircase leading to The House of Horrors gave way.

"The Tayto Park emergency plan was immediately put in place and the emergency services attended the scene. Nine people were transported to hospitals in the city as a precautionary measure to assess their injuries.

"The management of Tayto Park will co-operate fully with the investigation as the safety of our guests is paramount."

Investigation Launches After Masked Men Break Into House In East Belfast
The PSNI have launched an investigation after masked men broke into a house in east Belfast while a woman was inside. The incident occurred in the Manna Grove area at around 7pm on Wednesday, 17 January. Three masked men entered the property through a smashed back door and searched the house while the woman was upstairs.

Limavady Murder Victim Named As 17-Year-Old Blake Newland
A 17-year-old boy murdered in a stabbing in Limavady on Friday, 02 February has been named by the PSNI as Blake Newland. At around 9.35pm last Friday night, police responded to a report that a man, aged his 50s, has been stabbed in an incident in the Limavady area.

Fourteen Sentenced In East Belfast UVF Investigation
The PSNI have welcomed the sentencing of thirteen men and one woman in connection with an investigation into suspected criminality linked to the East Belfast UVF by the Paramilitary Crime Task Force. The defendants were sentenced over the five-week period, from 11 January to 16 February, at Belfast Crown Court.
