Belfast Singer Bap Kennedy Dies, Aged 54
Belfast singer Bap Kennedy has died at the age of 54.
He was in a Marie Curie hospice after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
News that he died was announced on his Facebook page.
It read: "We are devastated to announce that Bap passed away this evening. Bap was extremely brave until the end.
"We would like to thank everybody for their kind messages of support over the past few months, these meant a lot to Bap and Brenda and helped Bap stay positive throughout his illness.
"We are also extremely grateful to all the staff at the Marie Curie hospice for their kindness and warm-heartedness during his stay."

Belfast City Council's Planning Committee has approved an extension to a primary school in south Belfast and the development of a heritage and community centre in west Belfast. The proposed single-storey extension and an additional eight-classroom school building are intended for St Bride's Primary School, situated on Derryvolgie Avenue.

Belfast is set to host four days of free family entertainment this weekend, 16-19 May, as it becomes the latest stop on Little Amal's journey. The striking 12-foot-tall puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee will arrive along the River Lagan on Thursday 16 May, shortly before 7pm, as part of Belfast City Council's Belfast 2024 programme.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a child was struck by a car in west Belfast on the morning of Monday, 29 April. A six-year-old boy was struck by a car at the junction of Tennent Street and Shankill Road at around 8.55am.
