Two People Escape Injury After Van Attacked In Co Down

A man and woman have escaped injury after two men attacked a parked van in Newtownards, Co Down.

The incident occurred in the Ballyrainey Road area shortly before 7pm on Wednesday, 16 November.

Two men, both aged 45, smashed the front windscreen of the van.

The suspects have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and threats to kill. They are currently being detained in custody.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A man has been attacked during an aggravated burglary in Co Down. The incident happened at a property in the Summerhill Brae area in Banbridge at around 10.35pm on Tuesday, 19 September. Three masked men forced their way into the property and assaulted a man, aged in his 30s, before they tied him up. They ransacked the property and made off.

Post Office Van Driver Hijacked In West Belfast
A post office van driver has been hijacked and threatened with a knife in west Belfast. The vehicle was stolen in Ross Road on Tuesday which was later found abandoned in the Valleyside Close area. A security alert was launched and the part of the Springfield Road was closed on Wednesday, however it has since been re-opened.

Fourth Man Arrested In Connection With Investigation Into INLA Activity
Detectives investigating ongoing INLA activity have arrested a 27-year-old man in Co L'Derry. The suspect was detained by police from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force on Wednesday, 07 March. The man was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

Young Girl Approached In L'Derry
Police are appealing for information after a young girl was approached by men in a van in L'Derry. The incident happened in the Creggan area at around 4.15pm on Wednesday. The nine-year-old girl was walking in the Creggan area when a white van pulled up beside her. One of the three men asked her to get in, however the girl refused and ran home.

Three Arrested Over Machete Robbery
A man has robbed a cash in transit van with a machette in north Belfast. It happened on the Old Park Road at about lunchtime on Monday. Three men aged 24, 44, and 51 have been arrested. A sum of money has been recovered.

Three Men Arrested Over Public Disorder In Lurgan
Three men have been arrested in Lurgan, Co Armagh, following public disorder in the area on Easter Monday. Two police officers were injured after petrol bombs were thrown and trouble flared overnight. The previous night a hijacked van was set in fire. The suspects, aged 21, 44 and 46 are currently being questioned by police.

Man And Woman Attacked In Ballymena
A man and woman are being treated in hospital after being assaulted by masked men in County Antrim. A group of masked men forced their way into a house on the Ballybogey Road in Ballymena in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being questioned by the police.
