Family flee home in arson attack
A family in north Belfast have escaped injury after their home was destroyed in an arson attack.
The couple and their five-year-old son were treated for shock and smoke inhalation after fleeing from their home following attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It is believed an oil tank was deliberately set alight at the Lansdowne Park house at around 2.30am.
Police described the incident as deliberate and have appealed for any witnesses to contact them immediately.

Appeal After Co Down Home Targeted In Deliberate Attack
Police in Bangor are appealing for information after a property was deliberately attacked in Co Down. The front door of a house was set on fire in the Kearney Gardens area sometime between 9pm on Thursday 31 March and 1am on Friday 01 April. The male resident was not in the property at the time.

A gang of around ten men has targeted the County Armagh home of a Muslim family in what is thought to have been a racially motivated attack. The attack occurred at around 2.30am on Saturday morning when the family were at home in their house in the Enniskeen area of Craigavon.

Detectives have launched an investigation into a "very serious" arson attack on a home in Newry in the early hours of Wednesday morning which has left one man with serious injuries and a family pet dead. Emergency services were called to the property in the Clonmore area, located off the Armagh Road, at approximately 2:20 AM on 14 January.

A Ballymena family have escaped injury following a pipe bomb attack on their home. The house in the Dunvale area of Ballymena was attacked at around 1.30am on Monday morning. A mother, her 22-year-old son, and her 17-year-old daughter were uninjured in the second attack on the house in side five weeks.
