Man Shot In Legs In West Belfast

A man has been shot in both legs in west Belfast.

The attack happened in the Ardmonagh Parade area at around 10pm on Friday, 06 January.

The victim, aged 21, was taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Sinn Féin MLA Orlaithí Flynn said: "This shooting of a 21-year-old man in Ardnamonagh Parade was wrong and I condemn it.

"There can be no place for these type of actions in our society.

"Those responsible need to stop immediately.

"I would call on anyone with information on this attack to bring it forward to the PSNI."

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Man Wanted In Lithuania Arrested In Magherafelt
The PSNI have arrested a 23-year-old man in Magherafelt wanted in Lithuania to face charges of human trafficking. The man was arrested by officers from the Police Service's local policing team in Magherafelt, with assistance from the International Policing Unit. He is expected appear before extradition court in Belfast later today.
