James Brokenshire To Work With Parties Following Stormont Collapse
The NI Secretary of State James Brokenshire has confirmed he will work with all political parties following the collapse of Stormont.
On Monday, deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness resigned after First Minister Arlene Foster refused to step aside while an investigation was carried out over the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scandal.
An investigation by Spotlight revealed several errors in the scheme, which will cost the public purse over £400million.
Mr Brokenshire said: "Unless Sinn Fein nominates a replacement to the position of deputy First Minister within the next seven days, it is incumbent upon me to call an Assembly election within a reasonable period.
"I would urge Northern Ireland's political leaders to take the necessary steps to work together to find a way forward and I will work with all parties and the Irish government to this end."
He is due to meet with MPs in the House of Commons to discuss the issue today, 10 January.

Brokenshire Grants Additional 24hrs For Political Parties To Reach A Deal
The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has given political parties an additional 24 hours before making a decision on what his next move will be, if an agreement to form an Executive has not be reached. Parties had until Monday, 30 October, to reach a deal, and the DUP asked James Brokenshire to legislate for a budget.

Call For New NI Secretary Of State To Start Work Immediately
The new Northern Ireland Secretary of State has been called to start work immediately and to recognise that the majority of people living in NI voted to remain in the European Union (EU). Alliance Leader David Ford made the call after the new UK Prime Minister Theresa May selected James Brokenshire for the role.
