Taxi Driver Commended After Telling Passenger He Was Scam Victim

The PSNI in Newtownards have commended a taxi driver after he convinced a passenger he was the victim of a scam.

The passenger told Kare Kabs driver Roy that all he had to do was go down to Tescos and buy £125 of iTunes vouchers to get the cash.

However, Roy realised this was a scam and told the passenger, but he was still sure it was genuine.

He contacted the police who confirmed it was a scam.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "The intervention of this taxi driver has definitely saved this gentleman a lot of money to the hands of scammers who care not who they target. Well done Roy and thanks."
