ICO Announce Data Protection Webinair

The Information Commissioner's Office have announced a free webinar looking at best practice for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) when they are collecting, sharing or processing data.

The small business sector is growing with 99% of the 5.5 million businesses employ fewer than 249 people. But when it comes to data protection, small businesses tend to be less well prepared, the ICO said.

The webinar, to be held on Thursday, 09 February, will look at:

• best practice for small businesses and data protection

• the ICO's powers of enforcement if things go wrong and suggestions to improve your practices

• the things businesses need to think about in the run up to the General Data Protection Regulation

The webinair is free but registration is required.
