Man Injured Following Shooting In Co Down

A man, aged in his 60s, has been injured after he was shot a number of times through the window of a house in Co Down.

The attack occurred at a property in the Tullymore Road area in Banbridge, shortly after 10pm on Thursday, 09 February.

The victim is being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Alliance candidate for Newry and Armagh Jackie Coade said: "This shooting could have resulted in the loss of life, and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. We had hoped that violence was behind us, but evil people continue to terrorise under cover of darkness. I hope the injured man makes a speedy recovery and I send him my best wishes. Anyone with information about this attack should pass it to the police on the 101 number or anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."
