Cost Of TV Licence To Increase
The cost of a TV licence is set to rise from 01 April.
The full licence fee will increase to £147 from £145.50 and a black and white licence will go up to £49.50.
This is the first rise since April 2010.
People who are severely sight impaired are entitled to a 50% concession and a licence fee will cost them £73.50.
Anyone over 75-years-old will receive a free TV licence, however they must apply for the concession.

Cost of TV licence set to rise
The cost of a TV licence is set to rise by £5 from next April, the Government announced today. From 1 April 2004, a TV licence will now cost £121 while a black and white licence will go up from £38.50 to £40.50. Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell announced the changes today in a written statement to the House of Commons.

Over 10,000 Without TV Licence
TV Licensing has today revealed that more than 10,000 people were caught watching TV without a licence in Northern Ireland during the first six months of 2010. This includes 3,087 in Belfast, 778 in Newry and 773 in Londonderry. They are among almost 209,000 people caught across the UK during the first half of this year.

Dog Owners Snap Back On Fees
Plans for a ten-fold increase in the annual dog licence have been reversed following opposition from dog owners. Stormont Agriculture Michelle Gildernew has had to scale back a proposed increase from £5 to £50 annually after owners said this was 'biting the hand that feed them'.
