365 New IT Jobs To Be Created In Dublin
IT services company Version 1 is to create 365 new jobs in Dublin.
The Irish computer consultant is planning to fill the new positions over the next three years at its city centre base.
The roles will be at the cutting edge of Version 1's areas of ERP, systems integration, cloud and data analytics.
The company is aiming to fill 100 positions this year, from graduate level to senior management, as well as launching its 2018 Graduate Programme in May to hire 70 IT graduates.
The announcement comes as the company embarks on an expansion programme into the UK and Europe, thanks to a €90 million investment by London-based investment firm Volpi Capital.
Since 2014, Version 1 has created close to 200 extra jobs in Dublin and doubled its workforce to over 850 employees in Ireland and the UK.
Speaking at the jobs announcement today, 05 April, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: "I want to commend the ambition and drive of Version 1 who will create 365 jobs over the next three years here in Ireland. The jobs represent a vote of confidence in the strength of Ireland's business environment, our highly skilled workforce and our strong education system. The Government will continue to work tirelessly to create the right conditions for companies like Version 1.
"Just yesterday we announced that Ireland's unemployment has dropped even further to 6.4% from 15.2% and we aim to create 45,000 new jobs this year alone. Today's announcement contributes to that and I want to thank outgoing CEO Justin Keatinge and incoming CEO Tom O'Connor for their continued efforts and belief in Ireland."
Chief Executive Officer of Version 1, Tom O'Connor, added: "The announcement today of 365 new jobs is as a result of our growth over the past five years and our confidence in our ambitious growth plans over the next three years."

145 IT Jobs For Cork
Cork has received news of another jobs boost, with 145 new posts to be created in the IT sector. The announcement was made by American computer firm Option Wireless, with the opportunities being distributed over the next three years. Enterprise Minister Mary Coughlan welcomed the firm's expansion.
