Man Escapes Injury After Bin Set Alight In Dunmurry

A man has escaped injury after a wheelie bin was set alight at the back of his house.

The incident happened at a property in the Glenbawn Square area in dunmurry between 1am and 2am on Friday, 26 May.

Damage was caused after the bin was pushed up against windows of the property.

A number of residents extinguished the fire.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Arrest As Drugs & Cash Discovered In Co Tyrone
Police have made an arrest after a quantity of suspected drugs was discovered when a car was stopped in County Tyrone. The vehicle was stopped in Fintona late on Tuesday evening, 20 August, and an amount of suspected class B controlled drugs were found.

Co Down Shooting Victim Named Locally
A man killed in a shooting in County Down on Monday evening has been named locally. Malcolm McKeown, aged 54, was targeted shortly after 9pm as he sat in his car outside a filling station in Waringstown. The local man was found dead in his vehicle, which was parked at the rear of the petrol station on Main Street in the rural village.

NI Man Michael Dunlop Wins Isle Of Man TT
Northern Ireland man Michael Dunlop has won the Isle of Man TT. The Ballymoney man now has 17 career wins and he broke his own lap record and clocked up to 129.197 on his motorbike. He also scooped top spot in Saturday's Superbike race. Scottish rider Adam Lyon was killed in an accident during the race.

Man Hospitalised After North Belfast Shooting
A man has been hospitalised following a shooting in north Belfast. Police are probing the paramilitary style incident in the Ardoyne area last night, Wednesday 21 August. The victim, a man in his forties, was shot in both legs. He is believed to be in stable condition today.

Coroner: 1972 Army Killing Was 'Unjustified'
The killing of an IRA man by a British Soldier in L'Derry in 1972 has been ruled by the coroner as unjustified. Seamus Bradley was shot and killed in the Creggan area of the city on 31 July 1972, at the age of just 19.
