Two Released Over Attempted Murder Of Police Officer

Police have released two men unconditionally over the attempted murder of a police officer.

The community officer sustained two bullet wounds to his arm in an attack which happened outside a petrol station on the Crumlin Road on Sunday, 22 January.

The men were arrested in the west Belfast area on Wednesday, 28 June, however they have since been released.

A prison officer has been released on bail after being arrested over drugs offences. The woman, reported to be 50-years-old, was arrested on suspicion of possessing and supplying Class A and B drugs at Maghaberry Prison. According to reports, it is understood she was detained on Monday, and released pending further enquiries.

Two Men Released Over Attempted Murder Of A Police Officer
Two men arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a police officer have been released. The men, aged 36 and 44, were detained in L'Derry on Friday. They were questioned over the attempted murder of a part-time officer in Dungiven last month. The New IRA has claimed responsibility. The investigation is ongoing.

Two Men Released After Police Officer Shot In North Belfast
Two men arrested in connection with the shooting of a police officer in north Belfast have been released. The attack happened at a petrol station on the Crumlin Road on Sunday, 22 January. The officer sustained two bullet wounds to his arm and is in a stable condition in hospital.
