Appeal For Information Issued On Bonfire Night Assault

The PSNI in County Down have issued an appeal for information on the alleged assault of a woman in Killyleagh earlier this month.

Posting on their Facebook page, PSNI Down said that at approximately 2am on Wednesday, 12 July, a woman was attacked by three other women, sustaining injuries to her face and body.

A spokesperson from the PSNI said: "There was loads of people around the area of (the) incidents so we would really like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen anything.

"If you don't want to speak to us then please ring the Crimestoppers UKcharity on 0800555111."

Police are also appealing for information on an unrelated act of vandalism earlier on the same night in Ballynahinch.

It is understood that shortly after midnight on Wednesday, 12 July, a red Vauxhall Astra car was damaged in an incident of criminal damage as it was parked in a Supervalu carpark on Lisburn Street.

Police said that the area would have been busy at the time of the incident and appealed to anyone who may have seen anything to contact them.
