Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Coleraine Magistrates' Court.
Reece Mullholland claimed Jobseeker's Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £860 while failing to declare employment. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay an offender's levy of £15.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
Construction Work Complete On New Build Development In Twinbrook
Construction work has been completed on a new build development in Twinbrook, Belfast.
The building, owned by social housing provider Radius Housing, is located in Broom Park and Broom Drive.
The development will provide accommodation for families and couples.
The housing mix includes one-bedroom apartments and two- and three-bedroom houses.
All the properties have been built to Lifetime Homes standard and have achieved Secured by Design accreditation.
Concerns Raised Over DUP's Anonymous Brexit Donors
Sinn Féin MP Michelle Gildernew has again raised concerns over the DUP's anonymous Brexit donors.
This follows revelations that over £250,000 of public money has been claimed by Tory MPs to support the European Research Group's pro-Brexit research. Ms Gildernew said that the time has passed for the DUP to come clean about its ties to 'shady' political donors.
She said: "The European Research Group has claimed over a quarter of a million pounds of taxpayers' money to fund pro-Brexit research.
"They have also received over £6,000 in donations from the Constitutional Research Council (CRC), the same group that funnelled £435,000 of dark money through the DUP during their campaign to drag the north of Ireland out of the EU.
"It is disturbing to learn that taxpayers in Ireland are funding the Tories' disastrous Brexit ambitions to impose an EU frontier across this island.
"Public confidence in the political institutions in the north was at an all-time low following the DUP's association with a series of financial scandals including RHI, NAMA and Red Sky.
"The time has long passed for the DUP to come clean about the sources of their Brexit donations and their support for a disastrous Brexit against the interests and democratic wishes of the people of the north."

The sex abuse trial of former DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife Eleanor Donaldson is to be delayed after Judge Paul Ramsey received updates in relation to Mrs Donaldson's health. During a brief hearing at Newry Crown Court, Judge Ramsey vacated the trial date of 03 November.

Former DUP Mayor Stripped Of MBE
A former DUP mayor has been stripped of his MBE following a conviction for a sexual offence. Thomas Hogg was found guilty in 2021 of an offence against a teenage boy. He had been made an MBE in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours list. He resigned from the party in 2019.
