Investigation Launched Following Homophobic Attack In West Belfast

Police have launched an investigation in relation to a homophobic attack on two men in west Belfast.

The assault happened near the Beechmount area of the Falls Road at around 2.50am on Sunday, 17 September.

The suspects are believed to have walked towards the Donegal Road/Whiterock area.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Joe Reilly Murder: Man Arrested
A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Joe Reilly. Mr Reilly, 43, was shot at his home in the Glenwood Court area of Poleglass, west Belfast, on 20 October. The suspect was arrested on Monday, 19 December, and has been taken to Musgrave Police station to be questioned.

Delivery Driver Threatened At Knifepoint In West Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after a delivery driver was threatened at knifepoint in west Belfast. The attack happened in the Ardcaoin area of Poleglass at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, 18 July. The suspects threatened the pizza delivery driver, assaulted him, stole a sum of cash and made off.

Joe Reilly Murder: Man Arrested
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Joe Reilly. Mr Reilly, 43, was shot at his home in the Glenwood Court area of Poleglass, west Belfast, on 20 October. Police detained the suspect in the Newtownabbey area on Thursday, 08 December. He has been taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

West Belfast Death 'Suspicious'
The PSNI is currently investigating the death of a man at a flat in west Belfast on Saturday. It is thought that the death of the 31-year-old may have been "suspicious". Police said they wanted to speak to anyone who was in the St Mary's Gardens area between 01:00 and mid-afternoon on Saturday 13 September and noticed any suspicious activity.
