Bombardier Workers To Meet With MPs In London

A number of Bombardier workers from Belfast are travelling to London to meet with MPs to press the government to defend jobs at the firm.

Boeing has accused Bombardier of selling its C-Series jet below cost price in the US.

The US later hit Bombardier with 300% tariffs in its trade dispute with Boeing.

The wings for the C-Series are made in Belfast.

Bombardier employs over 4,000 people in Northern Irleand and it has put their jobs at risk.

Union officials will also accompany the Belfast workers who are expected to meet Business Secretary Greg Clark.

DUP MLa Gavin Robinson said: "It is vital that our Government now does step up efforts, alongside the Canadian administration as we move towards the next stage in this process in February. Similarly it is important that the workers both in Belfast and in Canada know that there are meaningful and genuine consequences in store should there not be an adequate resolution to this case."
