Northern Ireland To Play Switzerland In World Cup Play-Offs

Northern Ireland will play against Switzerland in next month's World Cup play-offs.

Micheal O'Neill's side were paired with the Swiss and will play at Windsor Park Stadium in the first leg, and away in the second.

Mr O'Neill said: O'Neill said: "Whoever we got we knew it was going to be a difficult game. Switzerland have had a great qualifying campaign, nine victories and one defeat but i think it gives us the opportunity to go to Russia.

"We have to be in the first game in Belfast but we look forward to the games and know we will have to be at our best."

The latest statistics from the NIEA revealed that items from house clearances such as white goods and furniture are also among the most frequently dumped items.

Online Voter Registration Now Live In Northern Ireland
Online voter registration is now available to people in Northern Ireland. Online registration has been available since 2014 in all other regions of the UK, but NI continued to require that paper forms be filled out and returned to an election office. But now, people not currently registered will be able to complete the process online.

Northern Ireland's dream of reaching the World Cup has come to an end. The team were playing against Switzerland on Sunday, 12 November, and the match ended with a 0-0 draw. Northern Ireland were defeated 1-0 on Thursday by Switzerland in Belfast, which means they failed to make it through to the World Cup.

Northern Ireland have made it through to the World Cup play-offs. The team were defeated by Norway 1-0 on Sunday, 08 October, however Scotland failed to beat Slovenia in their fixture, ensuring NI secured their spot in the tournament. The draw will be made later this month and the games - staged over two legs - will take place in November.

Lottery boost to transform east Belfast childcare facilities
A parish hall in east Belfast will be transformed into a state-of-the-art childcare centre thanks to a lottery windfall announced today by the New Opportunities Fund. East Belfast based charity Oasis Caring in Action Limited has been awarded a grant of £227,991 to renovate the hall off the Castlereagh Road into an early years childcare centre.

Four New Play Parks Announced For L'Derry
£2.8m from the Executive's Social Investment Fund is going toward four new play parks in L'Derry, The facilities will be located at Ballymagroarty Play Park, Kilfennan Valley Park, Ballyarnett Country Park and Daisyfield. Derry City Council has put up £300,000 towards the project.
