Drop In Number Of People Claiming Unemployment Benefits

There has been a drop in the number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland.

According to figures from the Department for the Economy, there are currently 29,300 claimants, a drop of around 500 over the past month.

The Department said there has not been a direct impact on Claimant Count figures as the roll-out of the new Universal Credit began in September.

Police Urge Hughes Brothers To Come Forward
The Chief Investigating Officer looking into the deaths of 39 people in a trailer in Essex has urged Armagh brothers Ronan and Christopher Hughes to hand themselves in. Essex Police travelled to Belfast today to issue the direct appeal. It comes over a week since the mass fatality was discovered in a container in Grays last week.
