Armed Masked Gang Attack House In L'Derry

Police have launched an investigation after a masked gang, armed with a suspected firearm, forced their way into a property in Co L'Derry.

Damage was caused to the house in the Altcar Park area on Tuesday, 07 November.

The occupier of the house was not injured.

The PSNI are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney said: "There's no place for thugs in balaclavas to be prowling the streets of this city, causing mayhem and fear for local residents.

"Those behind this attack in Altcar Park are callous criminals and should face justice. This is a large residential estate; this was a reckless attack that could have turned out even worse.

"Following the shooting last week, it's critical that the PSNI gets a hold of this situation quickly. Hooded thugs carrying guns is a sight that no one in this city wants to go back to.

"I would urge anyone with any information to come forward to the police."
