Investigation Launched After Nine Kegs Of Beer Stolen In Co Armagh

Police have launched an investigation after nine full kegs of beer were stolen from a pub in Co Armagh.

The kegs were taken from The Old Dyke Inn in Poyntzpass between 2.30pm on Monday, 27 November, and 9pm on Tuesday, 28 November.

A suitably sized vehicle would have been needed to remove the kegs, according to the PSNI.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "If you saw any activity around the Inn during this time please call 101 quoting reference 1361 of the 28/11/17."

Police are renewing their appeal for information after a video posted on social media shows a rioter throwing a petrol bomb at a van in L'Derry. Man Arrested Over Double Murder
A man has been arrested in England over a double murder in County Armagh in 2006. The 33-year-old was arrested on Wednesday in the Essex area. Thomas O'Hare, 33, and Lisa McClatchey, 21, were doused in petrol and set alight at their home in Tassagh in November 2006. The man is due to appear in Armagh Court on Friday.

Crushed Beer Kegs Discovered In Armagh
Police are appealing for information after over a tonne of crushed beer kegs were discovered in County Armagh. 61 kegs which were not crushed and 19 gas cylinders were also found during searches around Middletown. The kegs have been known to be sold for their scrap metal value. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.

Two Men Arrested Over Roofing Scam In Newry
Two men have been arrested in Newry who were allegedly involved in a roofing scam. The suspects reportedly offered to carry out roof repairs and guttering services in the Armagh road area and demanded more money when the work was complete. They are believed to have tried to scam a woman, aged in her 90s, out of £700.

Man Killed In County Armagh Road Crash
Police have issued appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in County Armagh. A man, aged in his 60s, has died after his car left the road and collided with a tree on the Bessbrook Road near Markethill on Thursday, 11 January. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no one else in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

Investigation Launched After Man Stabbed In Armagh
Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in Armagh. The assault happened at a house in the Terraskane Road area just after 12.15am on Monday, 20 November. The victim, who was stabbed in the abdomen, was taken to hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Cyclist Found Dead In Co Armagh Named
A cyclist who was found dead at the side of a road in Co Armagh has been named. The body of Mr David Helliwell was found in the Drumnamether Road area in Tandragee on Thursday, 31 May. He was 55-years-old. It is not known if he was involved in a road collision or collapsed. Inspector Leslie Badger said: "This incident occurred shortly after 7.30pm.

The son of leading loyalist Johnny Adair has pleaded guilty to a number of drugs charges in England. Jonathon Adair, 19, appeared before Bolton Crown Court on Friday charged with conspiring to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

Investigation Launched Following Aggravated Burglary In Co Armagh
Police have launched an investigation following an aggravated burglary in Tandragee, Co Armagh. The incident happened in the Market Street Court area on just before midnight on Thursday, 29 September. A gang of masked men, believed to have been armed with a baseball bat and hammers, caused damage to a house. They were all wearing dark clothes.

Man Arrested After Woman's Body Found In Co Armagh
A 36-year-old man has been arrested after a woman's body was discovered at a flat in Lurgan, Co Armagh. Police found the body at a property in the Victoria Street area on Sunday. A post-mortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Security Alert In Co Armagh
Police have confirmed a security operation is currently underway in south Armagh. The alert has closed Concession Road from Cullaville to the border, in the direction of Dundalk, Co Louth. In a statement, the PSNI said motorists in the area are advised to seek an alternative main route for the journey. No further details are available.
