Investigation Launched Following Two Burglaries In Co Down

Police have launched an investigation following two burglaries in Co Down.

The PSNI believes that both burglaries in Holywood may be linked and have released a description of two males.

In the first incident, a sum of cash was stolen as well as a safe, a PlayStation 4 with games and a clock.

In the second burglary a sum of cash and a safe were taken.

The first male has been described as between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a light baggy tracksuit top, navy tracksuit bottoms, a ski balaclava mask and gloves and was carrying a crowbar.

The second man has been described as wearing a dark tracksuit top and dark jeans, dark Adidas plimsoll soles, and a ski balaclava mask and gloves.

The two males were seen pushing a black bin in the direction of Downshire Road.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Armed Man Threatens Staff In West Belfast
A man, believed to have been armed with a hammer, threatened staff at a shop in west Belfast. The incident happened at premises in the Springfield Road area at around 7.40pm on Saturday, 23 September. The suspect was wearing a dark jacker and a dark hat. He demanded money and made off with a sum of cash. No-one was injured in the incident.

A teenager has been injured after being abducted and attacked in Newtownabbey. The 14-year-old boy sustained bruising to his face and body during the assault which happened on the O'Neill Road on Saturday, 04 August, at around 9pm. Northern Ireland's Women have been defeated by the Republic of Ireland in their World Cup Qualifier. The match took place at Mourneview on Tuesday night, 19 September. Jus before half time NI scored an own goal putting the Republic in the lead. Megan Campbell secured in the second goal in the 68th minute of the second half.

Woman Injured In Armed Robbery
Armed thieves made off with a sum of cash following a robbery in west Belfast last night. Three men approached staff while they were locking up a bookmakers sometime before 9.50pm. The males forced the staff inside and proceeded to take an undisclosed sum of cash. Police said the men had firearms in their possession.

Woman Tied Up During Burglary
A woman in her sixties has been left shaken after being tied up during a robbery at her home. Detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary at the property in north Belfast. A number of masked males entered the woman's home on Cavehill Road at around 21:00 on Sunday 30 November.

An elderly woman has interrupted a burglary at her own home after returning to find two males inside. Police in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following the burglary in Rathdrum Park. The woman returned to her house at about 11:15 on Monday 8 September to find two males inside.

Police Investigate 'Link' Between Two Burglaries In North Belfast
Detectives are investigating a possible link following two burglaries in north Belfast on Monday night. In the first incident an elderly woman was knocked to the ground by a man as she answered her door in the Lawnview Street area just after 7pm. The man made off empty handed when the woman began shouting.

County Armagh pensioner robbed by gang
Police have appealed for information after a pensioner was robbed by a gang in her home in County Armagh. A spokesperson for the PSNI said that a gang of up to six men broke into the home of a woman aged in her early 80s, by forcing their way through a front window of her home in the Bessbrook area at around 7pm yesterday evening.
