Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder In Co Down

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two men sustained serious injuries in a stabbing attack in Newcastle, Co Down, which happened while four children were in the house.

The children and a man and woman were not injured in the incident, which occurred at a property in the Burren Meadow area just after 11pm on Wednesday, 28 March.

The victims, aged 37 and 40, sustained injuries to their necks and arms and are currently receiving hospital treatment.

The suspect also had to be taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Co Antrim Man Found Dead In Ibiza Sustained Head Injuries
A County Antrim man found dead in a hotel room in Ibiza sustained head injuries, according to Ireland's expert State Pathologist. Alan Drennan, 21, was found dead just 24 hours after arriving in Ibiza. Mr Drennan was detained by Spanish police when he arrived on the holiday island, and friends claim that he was attacked by the police.

Man Dies In Co Antrim Collision
A 62-year-old man has died after his car crashed into a lorry in County Antrim. The collision occurred on the Lisnevenagh Road at around 8pm on Tuesday. A man and a woman who were travelling in the lorry also sustained injuries, however they are not believed to be life-threatening. The road is currently closed and diversions have been put in place.

Man Attacked By Masked Men In Co Antrim
A man has been injured after being attacked by masked men in Co Antrim. Three individuals, who were armed with bats, assaulted the man in an alleyway in Greenland in Carrickfergus on Tuesday, 31 May. The victim sustained injuries to his arm and side. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.
